About CCEF
Cambridge China Education Forum
CCEF is an annual education forum organized by graduate students at the University
of Cambridge. We are honoured to have Prof. Geoff Hayward, Prof. Anna Vignoles,
and Prof. Susan Robertson from the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge on
our advisory board.

ProfessorColleen McLaughlin

Colleen McLaughlin 教授是剑桥大学教育系教育创新项目和教育改革和创新小组的负责人,兼任Sussex大学的系主任和剑桥大学教育学院的副院长。McLaughlin教授拥有丰富的教学实践经验,曾在中学任教并长期担任当地教育机构的顾问。她致力于研究教育改革与发展、文化政治和社会正义、个人、社会和情感发展教育等相关问题,目前的研究重点集中于学生在学校的情感发展和人际关系、非洲的艾滋病及性知识教育、校园欺凌现象和特殊教育以及学生在学校的各种社会和情感发展问题。McLaughlin教授不仅对英国的教育问题有着深刻的见解,还关注世界各国的教育问题及实践,致力于为国际教育改革提供学术支持。此外,她长期担任英国政府部门和多个非营利组织的顾问,为英国学校教育提供指导和建议。


Professor Colleen McLaughlin is Director of Education Innovation and leader of the Educational Reform and Innovation team. She has held various leadership roles: Head of Department at the University of Sussex and Deputy Head of Faculty at the University of Cambridge, Faculty of Education. She taught in secondary schools and worked as an advisor in a local education authority before coming to the then Institute of Education in 1985. Her recent research has focused on wellbeing in schools; relationships in schools; sexuality and HIV related education in Africa; bullying and pupils with special educational needs and disabilities; and aspects of personal, social and emotional development in schools. Support for international educational reform is now a major area of work. She has been involved as an advisor to governments and NGOs on the personal and social dimensions of schooling.


Professor Anna Vignoles

Professor Anna Vignoles is a Professor of Education at University of Cambridge. She has published widely on widening participation in higher education, social mobility, the impact of school resources on pupil achievement and on the socio-economic gap in pupil achievement. Her research interests include issues pretaining to equity in education, school choice, school efficiency and finance and the economic value of schooling. Anna has advised numerous government departments, including the Department for Education, the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills and HM Treasury of UK. Anna is a member of the ESRC Council nd chaired the steering group for the ESRC Longitudinal Studies Review. Anna was awarded the British Education Research Journal Editor's Choice award in 2015 and was elected as a fellow of the British Academy in 2017.


Professor Susan Robertson

Susan Robertson is a professor of Sociology of Education and Head of the Faculty of Education at University of Cambridge, where her research focuses on education in a political context, including global governance of education, cultural political economy of education, social justice, tranformation of the state and the new capitalisms. Her work draws on a range of disciplines that broadly address the social, from geography to politics and economy, and she has worked as a sociologist of education in universities in different parts of the world, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK. Susan was senior expert advisor for the European Commission's DG Education and Culture. Currently, she is an Editor-in-Chief for Globalisation, Societies, and Education, and Editorial Board member for "Educational Researcher" and "Education Policy Analysis Archives", and an Evaluator for the Horizon 2020 project.

Yiqiong YANG is a PhD student at the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on the role and application of cognitive error monitoring in learning. She also gained industrial experiences during her gap year as a branding analyst in a VC branding department and an associate product manager in an Internet product department.

张婉宁,剑桥大学教育全球化与国际发展专业研究生,研究方向为NGO与政府在性教育等领域的合作。曾在私募股权公司、教育科技公司、公益组织以及全英中国教育研究协会兼职实习。

Wanning ZHANG is an MPhil student in the route of Education, Globalisation and International Development at Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. Her research interest focuses on the NGO-government relationship in sexuality education provision in the context of China. She had work and research experiences at private-equity firm, EdTech firm, educational NGO and Chinese Educational Research Association (CERA).

郭盼园,剑桥大学心理系博士生,研究方向为儿童认知能力,包括学习、记忆和注意力等功能。目前的研究重点是儿童记忆力的发展及其影响因素。

Panyuan GUO is a PhD student in the Psychology department, University of Cambridge. She is interested in cognitive functions in childhood, such as learning, memory, and attention.   Her recent research focusses on how memory develops in children and what factors affect this development.

Zixuan Li is an MPhil student in the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge, with research interests in language learning motivation, language learning strategies and multingualism, with a focus on the L3 curriculum in China.

Si Chen is an MPhil student on Art, Creativity, Education route at University of Cambridge. Her research interests focus on visual arts education, early childhood education (age 0-8), and parent-child relationships.

Gongbao WANG is a Cambridge student studying for an MPhil in Education (Research in Second Language Education). Before stepping into the education sector, he worked as an International Marketing Manager in a Beijing consulting firm. Gongbao has taught in language programmes for children, teenagers and adults in Argentina, China, Cuba, Thailand and Vanuatu.

Yue ZHOU is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. She has a particular interest in issues and discourses of identities, heritage, and language learning in the transnational migration contexts. Her doctoral project aims to investigate the policies and ideologies of immigrant minority language education in the UK.

Zihang YANG is an MPhil student in the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. His research interests lie in second language acquisition and psycholinguistics. His current research looks at the comprehension of counterfactual discourse in English by L1 Speakers and L2 Learners.
