Professor Susan Robertson


susan.jpgSusan Robertson教授是剑桥大学教育社会学教授、教育学院院长。她的研究重点是政治背景下的教育问题,包括全球教育管理、教育的文化政治经济学、社会正义、英国转型和新资本主义等。Robertson教授致力于通过地理、政治、经济的跨学科视角来深入探索与教育相关的社会问题。Robertson教授曾在多个国家任教,包括澳大利亚、加拿大、新西兰和英国,对这些国家的教育问题有着深刻的认识。她曾担任欧盟教育和文化委员会总司的高级专家顾问;目前是《全球化、社会和教育》期刊的主编、《教育研究者》和《教育政策分析档案》期刊的编辑委员会成员,以及2020英国地平线项目的评估员。


Susan Robertson is a professor of Sociology of Education and Head of the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge, where her research focuses on education in a political context, including global governance of education, cultural political economy of education, social justice, transformation of the state and the new capitalisms. Her work draws on a range of disciplines that broadly address the social, from geography to politics and economy, and she has worked as a sociologist of education in universities in different parts of the world, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK. Susan was senior expert advisor for the European Commission's DG Education and Culture. Currently, she is an Editor-in-Chief for Globalisation, Societies, and Education, and Editorial Board member for "Educational Researcher" and "Education Policy Analysis Archives," and an Evaluator for the Horizon 2020 project.



ProfessorWeihe Xie


xie.jpg谢维和教授是清华大学教育研究院教授,原清华大学副校长、教育研究院院长(2009-2019)。谢教授现任中国教育学会副会长,主要研究领域为教育学原理、教育社会学、高等教育和青少年研究等。谢教授在《教育研究》《社会学研究》等学术刊物发表论文百余篇,在教育科学出版社、人民教育出版社等出版单位出版学术著作十余本, 也参加过若干教育政策研究。曾担任中国教育中长期改革与发展规划纲要起草的体制组组长。

Weihe Xie is a professor at the Institute of Education of Tsinghua University. He was the former vice President of Tsinghua University and Dean of the Institute of Education (2009-2019), and now is the vice President of the Chinese Society of Education. His research interests focus on educational theories, sociology of education, higher education and adolescent studies. He has published over 100 academic articles in influential academic journals such as Educational Research and Sociological Studies, and more than 10 books by Educational Science Publishing House, People's Education Press and other publishers. He has also participated in multiple major research projects on educational policy in China. He once served as the Head of the Educational System team for the drafting of National Medium and Long-term Educational Reform and Development Program by China’s Ministry of Education.


ProfessorFengqiao Yan


阎凤桥.jpg阎凤桥教授是北京大学教育学院院长、教育管理与政策系教师。其主要研究领域为高等教育组织与制度、民办高等教育、学术职业等。曾主持过世界银行、福特基金会、全国教育科学规划资助的多个研究项目。曾在《教育研究》《高等教育回顾》《中国教育与社会》等专业期刊发表多篇中文和英文论文。阎教授曾赴英国兰开斯特大学、美国纽约州立大学、斯坦福大学访学,并到其他多个国家访问并进行学术交流;其社会兼职包括:中国高等教育学会学术委员、中国高等教育学会院校研究专业委员会理事、中国教育发展战略学会常务理事和副秘书长等。


Professor Yan Fengqiao is the Dean of the Graduate School of Education of Peking University, where he teaches in the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership. His research interest lies in organization and institution in higher education, private higher education, and academic profession. He was also the principal investigator of many research projects funded by the World Bank, the Ford Foundation, and the Chinese government. His research has been published in both English and Chinese journals, including Educational Research, The Review of Higher Education, and Chinese Education and Society. He was a visiting scholar at Lancaster University (UK) in 1991, State University of New York at Albany in 2000-2001, and Stanford University in 2014-2015. He is also the academic committee member of China Association of Higher Education(CAHE), the Director of the Institutional Research Committee of CAHE, and Executive Director and Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Education Development Strategy.



Dr Eva Hartmann


Eva.jpgEva Hartmann是剑桥大学教育学院的讲师,主讲教育社会学。她的研究涉及批判性国家理论、政治经济学、经济社会学、职业社会学和后殖民研究;她的研究致力于更好理解社会、教育和权力之间的辩证互动。她的研究关注高等教育的国际化,特别是跨境学生的流动性,同时也涉及职业教育和继续教育。近年来,她关注私人主体(如质量保证机构、专业协会以及跨国公司)在制定国际教育标准方面的作用。她目前的研究重点是地缘政治和高等教育,并进一步深化“教育外交”的概念。


Eva Hartmann is a Lecturer in Sociology of Education in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. Her studies draw on and further develop critical state theory, political economy, economic sociology, sociology of professions and postcolonial studies with a view to better understanding the dialectical interaction between society, education, knowledge and power. Her research explores the internationalisation of higher education, with a particular focus on cross-border student mobility. It also addresses issues of vocational education and further education. In more recent years, she devoted attention to the role of private actors, such as quality assurance agencies, professional associations and multinational companies, in setting international education standards. Her current research focuses on geopolitics and higher education where she further develops the notion of educational diplomacy.

Rob Gruijters is a University Lecturer within the Faculty's Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) Centre. Prior to joining the Faculty in September 2018, Rob worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Oxford and Berlin. He is a sociologist by training and has worked with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in Ghana before starting his Phd. Rob's current research focuses on inequality in learning outcomes and its relation to educational policy and school characteristics, including private schooling, in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. He is also interested in the effect of China's market transition on educational and economic inequality. His research has been published in Sociology of Education, the European Sociological Review, the Journal of Marriage and Family, Sociology, and other major journals.

Shuling WANG is a PhD candidate in Sociology of Education at the University of Cambridge. Her PhD research explores the lived experiences of Chinese women teachers in the ELT industry, with a particular focus on their encounters with foreign teachers. She is also interested in Chinese people's interactions with international immigrants and the integration of international immigrants into Chinese society.

Yutong ZHONG is an MPhil student of Knowledge, Power, and Politics in the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. His research interest lies in higher education and social mobility, examinations and education. He obtained his bachelor degree with the highest honor from Fudan University.

Tong GUO is an MPhil student in Finance and Economics, University of Cambridge. Tong obtained her bachelor degree in actuarial science from Pennsylvania State University. Later, she finished Advanced Economics Diploma in University of Cambridge. She used to work in PwC Strategy and Huatai Securities.

Ray HSUAN is an MPhil   student in   the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. Ray served in China’s Ministry of Commerce and the WFP. His research interest lies in the nexus between international relations and overseas study policy and his MPhil project focuses on the history of Chinese students’ overseas education after the Opium War.

Elly Tai is a second-year Ph.D Candidate and a member of the CPGJ group. She is exploring The Global Governance of Education through the OECD'S PISA and TALIS program by interviewing secondary school teachers in England and conducting document analysis.

Colleen McLaughlin 教授是剑桥大学教育系教育创新项目和教育改革和创新小组的负责人,兼任Sussex大学的系主任和剑桥大学教育学院的副院长。McLaughlin教授拥有丰富的教学实践经验,曾在中学任教并长期担任当地教育机构的顾问。她致力于研究教育改革与发展、文化政治和社会正义、个人、社会和情感发展教育等相关问题,目前的研究重点集中于学生在学校的情感发展和人际关系、非洲的艾滋病及性知识教育、校园欺凌现象和特殊教育以及学生在学校的各种社会和情感发展问题。McLaughlin教授不仅对英国的教育问题有着深刻的见解,还关注世界各国的教育问题及实践,致力于为国际教育改革提供学术支持。此外,她长期担任英国政府部门和多个非营利组织的顾问,为英国学校教育提供指导和建议。


Professor Colleen McLaughlin is Director of Education Innovation and leader of the Educational Reform and Innovation team. She has held various leadership roles: Head of Department at the University of Sussex and Deputy Head of Faculty at the University of Cambridge, Faculty of Education. She taught in secondary schools and worked as an advisor in a local education authority before coming to the then Institute of Education in 1985. Her recent research has focused on wellbeing in schools; relationships in schools; sexuality and HIV related education in Africa; bullying and pupils with special educational needs and disabilities; and aspects of personal, social and emotional development in schools. Support for international educational reform is now a major area of work. She has been involved as an advisor to governments and NGOs on the personal and social dimensions of schooling.


Professor Anna Vignoles

Professor Anna Vignoles is a Professor of Education at University of Cambridge. She has published widely on widening participation in higher education, social mobility, the impact of school resources on pupil achievement and on the socio-economic gap in pupil achievement. Her research interests include issues pretaining to equity in education, school choice, school efficiency and finance and the economic value of schooling. Anna has advised numerous government departments, including the Department for Education, the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills and HM Treasury of UK. Anna is a member of the ESRC Council nd chaired the steering group for the ESRC Longitudinal Studies Review. Anna was awarded the British Education Research Journal Editor's Choice award in 2015 and was elected as a fellow of the British Academy in 2017.
